Annexation of East Jerusalem

Immediately after the war, Israel annexed East Jerusalem, and moved swiftly to demolish some Palestinian neighborhoods, confiscate land, and build Jewish settlements both inside the city and within surrounding areas. Israel also expanded the borders of the city to include some surrounding villages.
